Before using your BWB for the first time, thoroughly clean all components with warm, soapy water. Allow the parts to soak for at least 2 minutes, then rinse well. Once dry, your BWB is ready to use!
How do I keep it clean?
After each use, rinse the device thoroughly with cold water. Add an antibacterial cleaning agent, such as antiseptic mouthwash or denture cleaner, into the bag and let it sit for 10 to 30 minutes. Next, add approximately three cups of cold water to the bag and give it a good shake. Rinse again with cold water, then hang the device upside down and allow it to dry completely before storing.
How do I use it?
The Isocapnic BWB is a CO2-controlling respiratory trainer designed to improve your respiratory function while you are in a resting state. Below, you’ll find a step-by-step guide to ensure proper use:
What is the purpose of the Isocapnic BWB?
The BWB helps train your respiratory system by controlling CO2 levels, allowing you to improve efficiency and performance safely while avoiding hyperventilation.
How do I prepare the BWB for a session?
Once assembled, take a full breath in, seal your mouth around the mouthpiece (or put on the mask), and exhale completely into the rebreather bag. This step “primes” the device and prepares it for your session.
How do I start a session?
Open the Isocapnic app, which will guide you through your training session. The app provides instructions and allows you to track your progress to help you achieve optimal results.
Can I use the BWB while exercising?
No, the Isocapnic BWB is specifically designed for use in a resting state. Avoid using it during physical activity to ensure safe and effective training.
What if the rebreather bag isn’t filling or emptying properly?
If the bag is consistently overfilling or underfilling, it may indicate that air is leaking through your nose or around the mask seal.
If the bag is constantly too empty, briefly unseal your mouth and take in extra air until your lungs are full, then reseal your mouth and continue.
If the bag is constantly too full, on the exhale, unseal your mouth after the bag fills completely and ventilate as much air as possible until your lungs feel empty. Then reseal your mouth and resume.
How often should I use the BWB?
Training frequency depends on your individual goals and program. Consult the guidance provided in the app or by your coach or practitioner.
