Sessions #1 – Learn to breathe better with your Isocapnic BWB! 7min
Pre activity comments:
This session should be performed on a rested system from a comfortable seated position.
**If at any point during this session you feel dizzy, light headed, or woozy take extra rest or end the session.**
Description:
Sit down in a comfortable position with good tall posture.
Breathing Technique (breathing without the Breathe Way) : 5 mins Place your hand on your abdominal area (belly) and take 4 deep slow breaths followed by 30 sec of breathing normal. Take note, are you breathing from your shoulders? Maybe your chest? maybe your belly? Well, the technique we want you to work on is using your belly to breathe. Feel your hand get pushed out when you breathe in, and feel your hand move in towards your spine with you breathe out.
Using the Breathe Way:
3 mins With your Breathe Way assembled, place the mouth piece in your mouth, like a snorkel, and blow up the rebreather bag like you were inflating a balloon. Breathe in with your mouth off the mouth piece and blow the air in to the device, inflating the bag. Once the bag is full, you are ready to start.
Set your BWB tempo App to 10 breaths per minute for one minute. With your lips sealed on the mouth piece, Press Start and hold the breath tempo depicted. Do this for 1 minute and pay attention to how you are breathing… Hopefully from your belly.
After one minute take 30 sec to rest without the Breathe Way and breathe normally.
When you’re ready, Press Start again, belly breathing in to the Breathe Way again for 1 minute. Remember to inflate the bag first. This time pay attention to how smoothly you are breathing. Your inhalation should be smooth in without pausing, and you breathe out smoothly. And again, not pausing at the end of your breath. After one minute, take a 30 second rest breathing normally.
Do this one minute session a total of 3 times through.
Great job!! Let your lungs rest for the rest of the day and take note if your lungs need more recovery then a day from this session.
